Andrew Tully - Executive Director, ITS and Business Solutions

Andrew Tully - Executive Director, ITS and Business Solutions

Andrew Tully joined FedUni as the Executive Director, ITS and Business Solutions in 2014 and has dramatically changed the landscape of service delivery within ITS.

In his strategic role, Andrew has developed an ITS Transformation strategy and plan coupled with an Enterprise Architecture Master Plan that forms the basis of our University's new Digital Journey which is designed to meet future evolving needs of our dual sector education landscape.

With a strong background in IT transformation optimisation, Andrew has revitalised the new ITS directorate into a bi-modal, end-to-end service entity by empowering the teams with new values, practices and processes that has enabled ITS to be responsive to evolving business needs. The directorate has been re-organised to service the tactical focus of technology to ensure alignment with the 2020 roadmap.

Barry Koch - Associate Director, Service Operations

Barry has been working in ICT for 25 years and has been with FedUni since 2015. Barry is the Associate Director, Service Operations and is responsible for teams providing infrastructure, website and associated application support.

In addition, service operation includes business as usual tasks and providing subject matter experts to projects.

Barry's vision is to provide the people, processes, platforms and tools to support the ITS digital journey and to align with the FedUni Strategic Plan.

Tim O'Doherty - Manager, Service Design and Planning

Tim has been working at FedUni since 1995 commencing as an analyst programmer on student systems, moving through team leader positions to his current position.

As Manager of Service Design and Planning Tim is responsible for the enterprise architecture, overall ITS capacity and budgets.

Angela Smith - Manager, Business Partnerships and Service Governance

Angela is an enthusiastic and client-focused professional who has been a leader in the provision of information technology service management for many years. Having worked extensively in the educational environment in both VET and higher education, Angela has worked on a wide range of business-critical initiatives where IT has been the enabler in the provision of improved efficiencies and outcomes supporting the university's strategic initiatives in teaching, learning and research.

Angela is experienced in process design, SDLC, IT governance, change management, project management, ITIL processes and continuous improvements.

Interests include putting leadership, engagement, change management, service delivery and application of new technologies together to find new ways to achieve productive outcomes.

Sahar Oujil - Manager, Service Support

Sahar is responsible for the strategic development and tactical delivery of end-user support services to research, teaching, and professional staff.

Sahar's career journey began with end-user IT support in tertiary education, quickly growing to encompass training and coaching. This is where Sahar first experienced the deep satisfaction of empowering educators with the knowledge, skills and tools they needed to meaningfully integrate digital technologies into their classrooms.

Sahar is passionate about technology and education having spent 21 years working in higher education to deliver solutions that enhance the way staff and students teach, learn and work together. Sahar's skills and experience are diverse, built from her relentless pursuit of new challenges needing service support solutions that will make a real difference in higher education.

Andrew Matheson - Technical Manager, Service Operations

Andrew has been working at FedUni since 2005 and has a wealth of experience in programming, application administration, application integrations and performance tuning.

In his role as Technical Manager, Service Operations, Andrew is responsible in providing technical leadership and oversight to an end-to-end Service Operations team and acts as team lead for the Corporate Solutions team.

The primary focus of the role is to provide expert technical guidance and tactical support to all Service Operations Team Leaders.

Other duties include:

  • Ensure ongoing availability, maintenance and support of the University's Administration Systems (UAS)
  • Assisting with the planning and design to ensure business requirements are met and services are delivered cost effectively to the agreed service levels
  • System optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Provide technical / tactical support and advice to the ITS team and the wider University community

Andrew's vision is to see ITS become a key part in making the current and ongoing Federation University Australia experience the best it can be for students, staff and the wider community.

Keith Aston - Manager, Print Services

Keith has held the position of Manager Print Services at FedUni since October 2007.

Keith is a qualified printer with a Diploma in Business. He is responsible for all aspects of print production including, supply, storage, engagement with external providers and distribution for all print and corporate stationery requirements.

Keith also manages and administrates all Multi-Function Device (MFD) Printers and desk top laser printers located across all FedUni campuses.

Tactical approach

Through people, process and tool realignment, ITS has transformed itself into a leader in emerging technologies that engage students and support staff to attain an outstanding learning and teaching experience.

ITS comprises of several cross-functional teams supported by an underpinning Service Support layer and is governed by an overall Strategic Services and Business Solutions Framework, ensuing that the technology investment is fit for purpose and benefits realisation are forthcoming for the business.

ITS is aligned to the business by supporting the University's strategic priorities, its digital journey and associated initiatives such as BOLD, to realise business capabilities and efficiencies.
