What is the Child Care Benefit (CCB)?

Many families are entitled to Child Care Benefit, from the Commonwealth Government, based upon family income. Families need to contact the Family Assistance Office on 136 150 for further details. You then need to provide the centre with your family and children's CRN's. Once determined, Child Care Benefit can be credited to your account the week after care.

Your family may be eligible for Special Child Care Benefit if it is in unexpected financial hardship or for increased eligible hours if it is in exceptional circumstances. Exceptional circumstances may include serious short-term family illness, hospitalisation, short term carer responsibilities for other family members or state emergency or disaster e.g. if parents are away fighting a fire. Special Child Care Benefit is a temporary increase in your Child Care Benefit. If you are approved for Special Child Care Benefit, you pay less for each hour of child care that you use. The Centre Coordinator will organise S.C.C.B. and advise you of what you will be required to pay.
