Short-term accommodation is available for postgraduate students, visiting staff members and TAFE block mode students as well as others. Several properties may be available.
- Peter Lalor Hall is located on-campus at the Mt Helen Campus. Peter Lalor provides single bedroom accommodation with shared facilities.
- Jemacra Place is located in Mt Clear, only 5 minutes from the Mt Helen and 10 minutes from the Camp St and SMB Campuses. Jemacra Place provides single bedroom accommodation with shared facilities in a 5 bedroom house.
Victoria Street short-term accommodation is situated on the main entrance road into Ballarat from Melbourne. The residence consists of the 'Victoria Street House' as well as the 'Victoria Street Motel'. It is only 2.5 kilometres from the SMB Campus and the CBD and very close to public transport to the Mt Helen Campus.
The Victoria Street Motel contains shared TAFE student short-term accommodation. The short-term accommodation rooms have three single beds with ensuite bathroom. Separate rooms are allocated for male and female students. There is also a large fully equipped self catering kitchen and communal area for guests. The units are primarily used for students that come to Ballarat for block mode TAFE studies.
A limited number of off-street car parking spaces are available on the Victoria St property.
- West Residences are shared self-contained 5 or 6 bedroom units, with kitchen, living and bathroom facilities, offer the convenience of being on-campus, as well as within walking distance to local shops and restaurants.
To book short-term accommodation please visit the Housing Portal. If this is your first booking with us you will need to register, if you have made previous bookings with us, please log in to complete your booking. If you do not know your login details, contact us.
Bookings should be made at least two working days prior to check-in. Confirmation and invoices will be sent to your registered email address with instructions how to pay. Payment must be received prior to keys being received.
Internal Staff Short Term Bookings
Staff internal to the University booking accommodation for cross campus travel, please complete the Internal Staff Booking Request.
Check in is available from the FedUni Living office during office hours Monday to Friday from 2pm until 5pm. Please contact us to arrange after hours check-in.
Check-in at Victoria Street is available Monday–Thursday, 5.15pm-6pm and Sunday, 6pm – 7pm.
Check-out is prior to 10am on day of departure. A key drop box is available in the FedUni Living office foyer.
Please note: If no after hours check-in arrangements have been made, and the duty manager is called out, an after hours call out charge of $90 will apply.
